Karni Mata Temple Bikaner

Karani Mata Temple is a famous Hindu temple situated in Bikaner district of Rajasthan. The idol of Goddess Karni Mata is installed in it. It is located at Deshnok, 30 kilometers south of Bikaner. This temple is also called the temple of mice. Karani Mata Temple is one such temple where 20 thousand rats live and devotees coming to the temple only get the prasadam offered to them.
Karni Mata is believed to have lived for 151 years. Currently, Karani Mata used to worship her Ishta Devi in ​​a cave where this temple is located. This cave is still located in the temple complex. It is said that Karni Mata was lit in the year 1538. After he became Jyotirlin, devotees started worshiping him by installing his idol, which has continued continuously since then. Along with this, there are also very good dharamshalas for the devotees to live and eat here.

The temple is open for devotees from 4.30 am to 10 pm. But Mangla Aarti at five o’clock in the morning and a procession of rats at seven in the evening is worth watching.

Summer (March to June) are severely hot and humid with temperature levels ranging between 36°C and 42°C making it impossible to enjoy outdoor activities. Sunstroke is also a very common occurrence.

Monsoon (July to September) offer low to medium rainfalls in Bikaner. Though the temperature settles down to a more comfortable level, excessive humidity makes it difficult to travel outdoors.
