Jaswant Thada Jodhpur

Jaswant Thada is a beautiful marble monument located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It is counted among the famous tourist destinations of Rajasthan. The Mehrangarh Fort is built on a high hill in the foothills of the Jaswant Thada Fort, to the left of the complex. Jaswant Thada is safe for cremation of members of Jodhpur royal family. Earlier the cremation of the members of the royal family was done at Mandore. In this huge monument, some such marble stones are also placed in the walls, in which the rays of the sun cross through.

It was built in 1899 by his successor Maharaja Sardar Singh in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II of Jodhpur (1888–1895). But now tourists come here a lot. The building is built on a red ghotu platform. The garden and fountain here seems very picturesque. Jaswant Thada is called the Taj Mahal of Mewar because pure marble has been used in its construction. However, the Taj Mahal of Agra is different in terms of architecture. You will also see small domes in Jaswant Thada.
