Gadisar Lake Jaisalmer
This lake was built to the south of Jaisalmer and by the first king of Jaisalmer, Rawal Jaisal. Gadisar Lake is a man-made lake situated in the middle of a desert on the outskirts of the Rajasthan city of Jaisalmer, which was constructed in the middle Ages to cater to the needs of the people here. The lake is said to have been built to dry the region. This lake flows automatically due to a specific gradient of land.
When you go to visit Gadisar Lake, you first see the entrance of Tillon which welcomes you in the beautiful surroundings of the lake. It is carved on rich yellow sandstone which is situated as a majestic attractive entrance to the Gadisar Lake. This gateway is like an arch across the street and is decorated with an idol of the Hindu deity Vishnu, established in the year 1908.

Boat rides are available here at different rates depending on the vehicle you choose. They will take you around the lake. Here you can spend some time in peace with your special people away from the crowd.

The best time to visit here is from the months of November to early March as the temperature in these months is favorable for travel.
How to reach
Gadisar Lake is just 2 kilometers from the railway station, so you can easily reach here with the help of a cab or taxi. Due to being located close to the Jaisalmer Fort, you can also travel here from the fort on foot.
