Nathmalji ki Haveli Jaisalmer

Nathmalji’s mansion is situated in the middle of Jaisalmer city. It was built in 1885. This mansion was built by Maharawal Berisal as the residence of Diwan Mohata Nathmal. This mansion is said to have been gifted to the Diwan. This mansion is famous for its architectural style. This mansion was built in the 19th century by two architect brothers. The design of this mansion and the carvings done here are completely different from all the other havelis in Jaisalmer. Seeing two stone elephants at the main gate of the mansion here, it seems as if they are standing to welcome you. Birds, elephants, flowers, bicycles, steam locomotives and soldiers’ shapes were created in the attractive frescoes of the building. Tourists can see many embossed images of cattle, horses, and flowers on the walls of the building.

Jain Temples Jaisalmer

Jain temples are located in the fort of Jaisalmer. These old temples were built between the 12th and 15th centuries. These religious sites are dedicated to Jain Tirthankaras like Shambhadeva and Rishabhdev. Tourists can see Dilwara style paintings, beautiful animals and human paintings on the walls of the temples.

The Jain temple of Laudrava is of great importance in terms of art. From afar, the grand peak and the Kalpavriksha located in it are visible. In the lower part of the main gate of the sanctum sanctorum, figures of Ganesh and Kubera are made. There is a temple in each of the four corners of this temple. The temple has Adinath on the south-eastern corner, Ajitnath on the south-western corner, Sambhavnath on the north-western corner and Chintamani Parshwanath in the north-east.

This lake was built to the south of Jaisalmer and by the first king of Jaisalmer, Rawal Jaisal. Vyas Chhatri:- Also known as the city of Sunset Point, it houses the cenotaph of Sage Vyas who compiled the famous epic Mahabharata.

Winter (October to February) is pleasant with a mild and cool atmosphere. Temperature levels during winters range between 10°C to 24°C. This is the perfect time to enjoy Jaisalmer tourism at its best.

Summer (March to June) are severely hot and humid with temperature levels ranging between 36°C and 42°C making it impossible to enjoy outdoor activities. Sunstroke is also a very common occurrence.

Monsoon (July to September) offer low to medium rainfalls in Jaisalmer. Though the temperature settles down to a more comfortable level, excessive humidity makes it difficult to travel outdoors.
