Maharaja Ganga Singh Ji of Bikaner built Lalgarh Palace in 1902 in memory of his father. This beautiful palace is the finest specimen of architectural art. The palace has the work of an attractive jalnuma Zardozi. The gardens and peacock dance of the palace enthrall the tourists. The palace is only 03 km away from the main city. The library of Lalgarh Palace is also very magnificent and has the largest collection of original Sanskrit manuscripts which has a collection of many handwritten books.  The palace, built of red stones, is designed by the architect Sir Swinton Yakub, who designed the structures of the buildings using a mixture of Rajput, Mughal and European styles. The magnificent and sandstone silver work is the major attraction of this palace. A part of this palace has been converted into a hotel by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation.

Karani Mata Temple is a famous Hindu temple situated in Bikaner district of Rajasthan. The idol of Goddess Karni Mata is installed in it. It is located at Deshnok, 30 kilometers south of Bikaner. This temple is also called the temple of mice. Karani Mata Temple is one such temple where 20 thousand rats live and devotees coming to the temple only get the prasadam offered to them.
Karni Mata is believed to have lived for 151 years. Currently, Karani Mata used to worship her Ishta Devi in ​​a cave where this temple is located. This cave is still located in the temple complex. It is said that Karni Mata was lit in the year 1538. After he became Jyotirlin, devotees started worshiping him by installing his idol, which has continued continuously since then. Along with this, there are also very good dharamshalas for the devotees to live and eat here.

The city was the capital of the former princely state of Bikaner. About 1465 Rao Bika, a Rajputchieftain of the Rathor clan, began to conquer the area from other Rajput clans.
