Ajmer Sharif Dargah
The Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan is recognized worldwide. Ajmer Sharif Dargah is 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) away from the main central Ajmer Railway station and is situated at the foot of the Taragarh hill. It is believed that a person, who prays with a pure heart at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, gets all his or her wishes fulfilled. Sharif Dargah is one of most visiting places in Ajmer. To say this is a pilgrimage site for those who believe in Muslim religion, but here you will see people of every religion drooling. Here Khwaja is the mother of poor Nawaz.
The Dargah can be accessed through a huge gate called the Buland Darwaza. The tomb of the great Sufi saint, Hazrat Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chishti, is placed in a vaulted chamber, which is studded with silver railings and marble screens. Near to the dargah of Ajmer Sharif, many types of famous qawwal songs are heard. There is a small market outside the dargah from where all pilgrims buy prasadam.
Best time to Visit
The best time to visit Ajmer Sharif is from October to March. During this time the Ursa fair is organized after the dargah and the dargah is decorated brilliantly. Therefore pilgrims must visit Ajmer Sharif Dargah during this festival.
